A little after 12 noon today,Team Tecnu Extreme/Esprit de Corp crossed the finish line, albeit one. Two years in the planning, it’s all come to an end. I wasn’t able to finish with my team as planned, but I am eager and ready to be the first to sign up for PQ 2009. I will race again with these friends and am eager to begin the process.  PQ 2008 will be remembered as the toughest race EVER, and those that finished, are to be hearalded as true extreme athletes. What they endured to get to the finish line was sheer torture, and their fortitude speaks for itself. The fact that I want to sign up for 2009’s race speaks volumes about how masochistic we are, and how we thrive on pushing the limits. Thank you to Tecnu Extreme and the folks at Tec Labs for being incredible sponsors and for letting us promote their products during our journeys. Your products rock. Thank you to K-Designers Home Improvements for their continued support. Thank you to all our other sponsors and our loved ones for their support. Without you, this would not be possible.  So…this door closes, and another one opens. We cannot wait to see what it brings. Now bring on the beer…  :)

I write you this blog from the comforts of our condo in picturesque Big Sky,Mt. It’s surreal to think that over a week ago our lives were altered forever. The gun went off, and friendships became deeper,our resolve stronger, our tenacity, that much more. Our relationships across the board, more meaningful.. Along the way things did not transpire as expected, with me being forced out of the fun way too early, but that is the cruel hand of destiny, and I learn the lessons I am supposed to learn, and I live to race another day. I fed my team a meal this morning,and sent them out on their last 36 mile trek to Ennis Lake where I will meet them to feed them and send them off on their last 31 mile bike ride to the finish on the steps of the Big Sky Resort. My friends, my Tecnu Extreme team-mates will have accompiished a daunting task, and I’m sure it will be an emotional moment for me having put in the time, and started the course only to be forced to cheer from the sidelines,but ultimately I could not be happier than I am that they followed through on what I asked of them.”You must go on, and you must finish this course no matter what.” They have integrity. They have huge inner strength, and tommorrow,they will have finished the course. Those memories, will last forever, and I am proud of my association with them. I love you guys. Get er done…..
A nice soft bed, and a cold beer await the victor… I’m buying..
